[Closed] Turnitin integration in Blackboard Assignments now restored

This incident was resolved on 17 October 2025. Full functionality has now been restored.

The integrated version of Turnitin in Blackboard submissions was not functioning correctly on 16 October, 2025. This has now been restored with full functionality.

The option to add Turnitin was unavailable. Assignments that had already been created still produced similarity reports as expected, and they remain accessible after submission by staff and (where configured) students. Existing settings could not be amended.

Turnitin submission points created through the LTI were unaffected.

This incident was resolved on 17 October 2025. Full functionality has now been restored.

 

The integrated version of Turnitin in Blackboard submissions is currently unavailable at the point of assignment creation. The Digital Education Office have contacted the suppliers involved and are working to resolve this situation as soon as possible.

Assignments that have already been created still produce similarity reports as expected, and these remain accessible after submission by staff and (where configured) students. Existing settings cannot be amended.

Turnitin submission points created through the LTI remain unaffected.

[CLOSED] FeedbackFruits LTI is not available

The following issue was resolved 25 September 2025, 12:34. Full service has now been restored.

 

The FeedbackFruits LTI used for peer-review assessments in Blackboard Ultra is currently unavailable to staff and students. Attempting to access the LTI will display an error message.

The Digital Education Office is in contact with the supplier and is working to resolve this issue promptly. Updates will be made to this post when they are available.

[CLOSED] No access to complex release conditions in Blackboard Ultra

(21/11/24)This issue was addressed in a patch from Blackboard. Full functionality has now been returned to Blackboard Ultra’s Release Conditions.

Access to complex, multiple-rule release conditions in Blackboard Ultra courses is currently unavailable. This is preventing the establishment of new rules and the review and verification of existing rules. We understand the potential impact of this and the concern it may cause.

Alongside Blackboard, we’re urgently investigating the cause of this issue and seeking a resolution as soon as possible. We will provide updates here when they are available.
