IT services have alerted us to an issue where returning students are not able to access their email through Gmail. This issue started at 11pm on the 17th September. Any announcements or emails sent using blackboard will also be affected by this issue.

We have had a communication from Turnitin warning us of possible intermittent service problems. As yet we have not experienced any problems with the service although you may find that uploads are slower than usual.
Turnitin are currently working to resolve the problem and we will keep this blog updated with any further information.
We are currently experiencing some errors when using the Safari browser to upload files to Blackboard. When trying to upload a submission with an attached document using Safari 11.1 (the newest version of the browser) we are getting reports of the following error:
Failed to submit Assignment. Please try again
This is a known issue which Blackboard are working on and we will let you know as soon as a fix has been applied. In the meantime the work around is to use a different browser – Chrome and Firefox can both be downloaded and used on a Mac.
