Some students not receiving, or experiencing delay in receiving, Turnitin submission receipts

We have had reports of some students not receiving, or experiencing a delay in receiving, email receipts when submitting to a Turnitin assignment. The submissions themselves appear to have been successful, but the receipt was not received until much later.

We have reported this issue to Turnitin and they are currently investigating.

In the meantime, if students do not receive a receipt by email they can check their submission has worked, and download a copy of the submission receipt, by following these instructions:

  1. Go to your Blackboard course and locate the submission point.
  2. Click View/Complete.
  3. Click View.
  4. Click the grey download icon.
  5. Click Digital Receipt.

We apologise for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause, and will post an update as soon as we have further information from Turnitin.

If you have any questions please contact digital-education@bristol.ac.uk

Resolved: Turnitin bulk download (anonymous assignments) issue

The issue affecting some Turnitin bulk downloads has been resolved. The issue was first reported on Thursday 8th April and Turnitin informed us it was resolved at 17:00 on Wednesday 21st April. During this period, users may have been unable to bulk download through the Assignment Inbox for anonymous assignments, attempting to do so generated an error message. Our testing has confirmed this is now working again.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you have any questions, please contact digital-education@bristol.ac.uk

Turnitin bulk download (anonymous assignments) issue

We have had reports of users being unable to bulk download submitted files through the Assignment Inbox when assignment anonymity is on. Attempting to do so generates an error message. This has been reported to Turnitin and they are investigating. In the meantime, it is still possible to download the documents individually by going into the Feedback Studio view for a submission, clicking the download icon, and selecting the format required.

We apologise for the disruption and will provide an update when we hear anything further.

Improvements to Collaborate Ultra video gallery

Collaborate A preview of the improved video gallery.Ultra has recently been updated to provide a richer video gallery. Three new views are available:

  • Speaker – current speaker displayed as a large window at the top with other users as smaller windows below.
  • Tiled – current speaker displayed as a large window to the left with smaller windows for other users to the right.

In addition to the visual improvements, Moderators can select an individual attendee’s video or avatar window, to change their role or send them a message.
