Launch of Blackboard Student Receipting tool (for assignments)

On the 18th April at 9.00 am we will launch the “advanced receipting” feature for students submitting Blackboard assignments.* We will be monitoring the tool after launch. Please contact tel-help@bristol.ac.uk if you experience any issues.

Following an assignment submission, students will receive an email confirmation. This receipt includes details on who submitted the work, the time of submission, the module title, the assignment title, and the name and size of the submitted file, as well as a link to our Help page.

Students who submit an assignment after 9.00 am on the 18th April will receive the receipt. Those who submit before this time will not receive a receipt.

*Students submitting an assignment to Turnitin through Blackboard already receive a receipt.

A copy of the email receipt is stored within Blackboard. (Instructions on how to access these receipts. A screenshot of an example receipt is shown below.

Questionmark Perception terminal server maintenance 11 April 2016

The Questionmark Perception terminal server will be unavailable, due to necessary maintenance work, on Monday 11 April 2016 between 10 am and 11 am. This will only affect staff accessing Authoring Manager remotely via the terminal server. It will have no effect on staff using Authoring Manager where it is installed on their own PC, or on staff using Enterprise Manager. It will also have no effect on students taking assessments in Questionmark Perception.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Issue with editing Turnitin submission points in Blackboard

We have recently encountered an issue whereby staff editing Turnitin submission points in Blackboard, with multiple Blackboard tabs open in the same web browser, have accidentally overwritten part of a submission point with information from another tab. We therefore strongly recommend that while editing Turnitin submission points in Blackboard you only have one Blackboard tab open in your browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc). We are investigating the underlying causes of this issue with both Blackboard and Turnitin.
